A Brief Introduction

We fund ethical original research that does not involve the use of live animals or embryonic stem cells, into the causes, early diagnosis, treatment, cure and prevention of Cancer. We finance such non-animal tested research into Brain, Bone, Breast, Cervical, Leukaemia, Ovarian, and Throat Cancers at leading University research laboratories in the UK.

We also support Cancer sufferers of all ages and their caring families, providing hospice support or emergency funds for amenities, equipment and facilities of all kinds in order to ameliorate their sickness, improve their quality of life, limit their stress and, where possible, help their recovery. Typical of Caring Cancer Trust's recent support for Cancer sufferers has been:-

• The provision of special Chemotherapy chairs for a new hospital unit, (Isle of Wight).
• The provision of an orthopaedic bed for a woman with Leukaemia.
• The provision of an electric food mixer for a throat cancer sufferer.
• Facilitating a terminally ill patient's 'last wish' Night Out at the Theatre with back stage visit to meet the cast of Dpamalot.
• Arranging a special holiday to Disneyland for a child in remission from Leukaemia.
• Funding the travel expenses for a caring family, to enable them to visit their loved one in hospital.
• Providing Christmas gifts and comforts for hospice distribution.
